What Is Open Doors?

The more I consume content, the more my understanding of myself and the world evolves. With each new book, article, work of art, or event, ideas network together and reference against each other. The trouble is that the human brain, at least mine, cannot possibly hold together so many disparate concepts.

Open Doors is an attempt to outsource this networking function. In Explorations, Reflections, Fiction & Poetry, and on the What I’m Hearing page, I can articulate my ideas—all categorized in a variety of ways to build networks of context. In What I’m Hearing and its corresponding archives, I list content I am actively consuming or have seen or heard in the past. Over time, several items on each list will link to one or several posts.

By outsourcing how I network ideas, I hope to build a sort of cognitive transparency and an improved ability to articulate.
